Professor Raymond Chan
Prof Ray Chan is Professor of Cancer Nursing, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland University of Technology. Ray’s research program focuses on optimising the health services’ responses to the needs of people affected by cancer in the post-treatment phase. He is particularly passionate about cancer nurses taking a leadership role in addressing complex problems in delivering sustainable cancer survivorship care. One of his current research projects, funded by the Oncology Nursing Society, examines the complex relationships between financial toxicity and symptom burden in cancer survivors. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles, and has presented >100 abstracts at national and international conferences. In total, he has attracted >$6 million AUD of competitive research grants as Chief Investigator (close to $1 Million AUD as CIA), including four NHMRC project grants and one NHMRC fellowship.
