Associate Professor Sandra Turner
Associate Professor Sandra Turner MBBS(Hons), FRANZCR
Sandra has been a radiation oncologist at Westmead Hospital in Sydney, specialising in GU malignancies and sarcoma for over 20 years. She is a member of the Faculty of Radiation Oncology Council at the Royal ANZ College of Radiologists (RANZCR) and is the Clinical Lead on the Targeting Cancer campaign to raise awareness and use of radiation therapy. She was the previous Chief Censor (Chair of education and training committee and chief examiner) for Radiation Oncology and remains involved with RANZCR curriculum development and training. Sandra was previously on the Board of TROG (the main research organisation in Radiation Oncology) and remains an active clinical researcher, especially in the area of prostate cancer. She is passionate about education of health professionals and patients especially around modern radiation therapy. She is simultaneously an Associate Professor at Sydney University and a PhD student at the same institution. Her PhD research is in medical education - specifically how best to enhance junior clinicians’ leadership skills for the benefit of the specialty and the community at large.
